The Moorhouse enjoys a glorious rural location in Nidderdale, close to the Yorkshire Dales, but for a day out, there are so many other possibilities close by:
(click on the bold items to open their links)
Rural Market Towns:
Pateley Bridge, Grassington, Leyburn, Masham, Skipton and Thirsk.
Arts and Crafts:
Pateley Bridge has a variety of Artists, Sculptors, Glassmakers and Jewellers. We recommend a visit to Sanders and Wallace, glass blowers, in the Kingstreet Workshops.
A wide choice of activies in the area, including Horse Riding, Shooting, Sailing and Fishing. There is swimming in the Nidderdale Recreation Centre, with its modern indoor pool and gym, or for those who like it under groud, Stump Cross Caverns.
Many glorious opportunities, including Heritage Trails and the Mosaic Walk, which passes right past our front door.
The Nidderdale Museum at Pateley Bridge - well worth a visit.
Music and Theatre:
The area has numerous Festivals, Concerts and Plays at various points in the calendar, both amateur and professional, with live music venues in Harrogate, Ripon and York.
Food and Drink:
Sadly the pub next door, the Drover's Inn was recently destroyed by fire. Dinner at The Moorhouse can be arranged for parties of 8 or more, a menu can be sent to you on request. Alternatively you are free to visit the many delightful pubs and restaurants in the area. Pateley Bridge has a range of traditional shops, among them The Oldest Sweetshop in England - a must, even if your self-restraint allows you only to look!
PLEASE ASK US
You will find we have brochures in the house for many of these and more, and you have only to ask us for our recommendations and guidance.
